WHO IS SHARP SUPPLY
Sharp Supply was founded from my 20 years in professional kitchens, a lifelong passion for Japanese knives, and a deep respect for the craftsmen behind them.
HELPFUL KNIFE KNOWLEDGE
-
Knife Care Guide
Knife Care GuideJapanese knives are
crafted with harder, thinner steel than Western knives. This gives them
extraordinary sharpness and cutting performance — but also means they require
mindful care. Follow these guidelines to maintain longevity, edge retention,
and safety. -
Types Of Steel
Types Of Steel GuideAt Sharp Supply, we believe the heart of every great knife is its steel.
Japanese blacksmiths have spent generations perfecting the art of steelmaking. -
Choosing The Right Style
Knife Style GuideJapanese knives are defined by intent. Each shape exists for a specific task, cutting motion, and ingredient. This guide explains exactly what each knife is designed to do, the meaning behind its name, and when you should — or shouldn’t — choose it.
OUR LEGACY
Sharp Supply exists to bring real Japanese knives to real cooks.
I’m a chef with over 20 years in professional kitchens, and Japanese knives have been part of my journey since day one. When I first picked up a proper Japanese blade, it completely changed how I cooked — the balance, the sharpness, the connection to the food. It wasn’t just a tool anymore. It was an extension of my hand.
Over the years, I’ve worked with countless knives, but Japanese blades always stood apart. Not because they’re trendy, but because they’re purpose-built, crafted with intention, and made by blacksmiths who have spent generations refining their skills. Every knife tells a story — of steel, fire, and patience.
Sharp Supply was created to cut through the noise. No gimmicks. No mass-produced “Japanese-style” knives. Just authentic blades, sourced from respected makers, chosen for performance, feel, and longevity. Knives that are meant to be used, maintained, and appreciated — not locked away.
Education is just as important as the product. From steel types and grinds to patina, sharpening, and care, Sharp Supply is about helping cooks understand why these knives perform the way they do, and how to get the best from them for years to come.
Whether you’re a professional chef or a passionate home cook, Sharp Supply is here to help you find a knife that fits your hand, your style, and your kitchen — and to make cooking feel sharp again.
